to the inexperienced player

A couple nights ago, we hosted a poker game in our apartment.  $0.25/.50 NL, $20 buy-ins.  Through some hot hands, I tripled up in the first 5 minutes.  Then I got involved in a hand against my brother.  I’m in the BB holding KTo.  My brother raises to something like $2-3 preflop in the SB.  I call.   Flop is 235.  He bets out $4.  I think for a little bit and put him all in.  He calls with AK.  To most people, this might appear like a donkey-ish play but it’s actually a situation where two people made good reads.  I knew he didn’t have shit on that flop which is why I pushed all in.  Doesn’t matter what two cards I’m holding.  My brother also made a good read in putting me on having worse shit than his.  In the end, all the money was in the middle with Ace high vs. Ten high.
