As the consummate gambler, I’ve wagered $25 into a pool with 3 other people and a side bet of $75 with one other person.  I’m not too concerned about winning the $25 one but the $75 one has me worried.  For one, the guy has an early lead in the tournament, correctly guessing 2 of the upsets.  We have the same picks for 3 out of the final four teams which is amazing considering I tried to be a little creative with picking Gonzaga to make it that far.  In order for me to win, I need UNC to lose, Illinois to make it to the final four, and Duke not to win the whole thing.

I got a lot of flack for picking Illinois to go all the way, especially with the amount of money on the line.  Yeah, it wasn’t exactly the smart thing to do but I gotta go with my heart on this.  I’ve been picking Illinois to go all the way for the last 6 years and last year was awfully close.  I’m not about to lose faith.  Go Illini!
