HOWTO: changing hostname in linux

Couple things to do: modify /etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network

In /etc/hosts, add your ip, fqdn, hostname. For example:

192.168.1.100 host.domain.com host

In /etc/sysconfig, change the hostname entry.

Then restart your network services.
